Service
Leadwork & flashing.
Code-5 lead, hand-dressed to every valley, chimney and abutment.
Lead is the most unforgiving material on the roof. Cheap flashing fails in five years. Properly dressed Code-5 lead, wedged and pointed correctly, will outlive the rest of the roof. We work to the LSA (Lead Sheet Association) details, full stop.
When to call us
If any of these sound familiar, it's worth a call. A free survey will tell you what's actually needed - and whether it's a repair or something bigger.
- Flashing around the chimney visibly pulled away
- Water marks running down from where flashing should seal
- Lead cracked, torn or perished
- Plastic or bitumen trim substituted for proper lead
- Step flashing missing or poorly dressed into brickwork
- Valley leadwork showing stress cracks or splits
How we approach leadwork & flashing.
Lead is the only material on the roof that lasts longer than the building around it. Hand-dressed Code-5 lead, wedged and pointed into brickwork properly, will outlive everything else. Cheap plastic or bitumen stick-on trim fails in five years. We don’t use it, full stop.
Every lead detail we install follows Lead Sheet Association (LSA) specifications - the correct code for the application, the correct fixings, the correct pointing. Chimney flashings get soakers on each course, step flashings raked into horizontal joints, an apron at the back, and a saddle piece over the ridge if the chimney meets one. Done once, properly, it’s a 50-year detail.
What's included
- Code-5 rolled lead, hand-dressed on site
- Chimney flashings, aprons and soakers
